Last night was tough...especially for Amy. It seems that little Kate loves to sleep all day and party all night. I assured Amy that we didn't give birth to a vampire and that this would change.
Since we let them keep her in the nursery in the hospital, we didn't quite realize how UP she is at night. Looking back, her most active periods while she was still in Amy's belly were the evenings. I guess all of Amy's daytime activity rocked Kate to sleep, then when Amy would settle down in the evenings, Kate would wake up ready to kick and wiggle.
It may take 2 or 3 days to get her onto a more normal active schedule.
I think Amy only got about 2 hours sleep last night. I got a little more because I slept well while Amy was feeding. Neither of us slept much in between feedings.
I'm back at work today for 1/2 day. I'm going to do 1/2 day again tomorrow. Next week its back to a normal schedule for me.

Hi, this is Pam, whitney and steph's mom---love this site. Will be praying she does flip her schedule. Jack looks so great holding her. I'm looking forward to meeting you guys some day. I hear amazing stories. Amy, I think you'll do great with the "second" child---ignore Whitney and her big sister comments about the second child. Siblings are so different but you guys obviously parent well. From all the stories I hear about Jack, it's not all "just" his personality. It's GOT to be partly your style of interacting with him so you will figure it all out with Kate. The girls can't wait to meet her and love on her. Steph is especially excited to get started with your kids---she loves coming into your home. Thanks for being so kind to our girls.
Hey guys! That picture of Jack and Kate is so cute! I can't wait to meet her and see the little man. Tell Jack Hi for me!
